Biography

Richard A. (Dick) Anderson, 80 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND after a short illness.
Dick was born on March 24, 1929 in Pelican Rapids, MN the son of Julian and Augusta (Larson) Anderson. He was educated in Fargo, ND and graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1948.
Dick enlisted in the United States Air Force in October of 1948 and spent time in Japan and Korea. He was discharged in August of 1952. He attended Radio Repair School at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and graduated as an Airborne Navigation Aid Technician and Ground Radio Technician.
Dick married Grace L. Janke on July 23, 1954 in Belleville, IL. In 1956 Dick began working for Northwest Airlines in Grand Forks, ND retiring in 1993. They made their home in Grand Forks, ND before moving to Perham, MN up his retirement. Grace Anderson passed away on September 2, 1995. Dick then moved to East Grand Forks, MN where he made his home. The hobbies in which he truly enjoyed were drawing, bowling, pool and bingo.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Grace; brothers: Julian, Keith, Rodney, Kenneth and Jim Anderson.
Family members who survive Dick include his children: Mike (Deb Nachtsheim) Anderson, Steve (Peg) Anderson and Duane Anderson all of San Diego, CA, Carol (Todd) Grabanski of East Grand Forks, MN and Teri (Jeff) Kerr of Grand Forks, ND; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren

Memorial Service: 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2010 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1515 5th Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN

Visitation: One Hour before Memorial Service in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church

Inurnment: Perham City Cemetery ~ Perham, MN in the spring
