Howard Rutherford, 87, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Howard Thomas Rutherford was born on January 8, 1923 in Grand Forks, ND the the son of Robert and Lucy (Chalmers) Rutherford. He grew up in Keywest, MN and attended school in Fisher, MN graduating with the Class of 1942. On March 29, 1959 he was united in marriage to Marlene Bring in East Grand Forks, MN. Howard farmed his entire life in the Keywest area and also worked for the American Crystal Sugar Company of East Grand Forks, MN as a mechanic.
Howard was a member of the Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, Masons and Eastern Star of East Grand Forks, MN, the East Grand Forks Heritage Center, Nisbet Cemetery Board of Directors as a trustee, and the East Grand Forks Senior Center.
Loving family members who survive Howard include his daughter Ann (Bryan) Enright of East Grand Forks, MN; three grandchildren: Sean Enright (Fiancé Amanda Hanson), Travis Enright (Fiancé Sarah McDonald) of East Grand Forks, MN and Dustin Rutherford of Grand Forks, ND.
Preceding Howard in death are his parents; his wife Marlene on April 19, 2005, son Tom on May 5, 1997; and one sister: Dona Knutson.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 4, 2010 in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, 528 10th St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN

Visitation: Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Masonic Service at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church

Interment: Nisbet Cemetery ~ Mallory, MN in the spring
