Biography

Jerry Keller,79, of East Grand Forks, MN died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, ND.
Jerry Keller was born June 24, 1930 in Grand Forks, ND the son of George and Gunda (Dahl) Keller. He grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School. He then attended UND until he joined the USAF, where he served in the Korean War. Following his service time in the military he continued his education at UND. He married Karen Madigan in August of 1963 in East Grand Forks, MN. He then went on to work for the Water and Light Department for the City of East Grand Forks. He later married Doris Praska on July 16, of 1988 in East Grand Forks. He was a charter member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of East Grand Forks, MN and a member of the VFW Post #3817 and also was a life time member and past commander of the American Legion Club #157 of East Grand Forks, MN.

He is survived by his wife Doris of East Grand Forks, 3 daughters June (Larry) Kuntz of Grand Forks, Kathy (Frank) Haywood of Jacksonville, FL, and Michelle Kozel of East Grand Forks, 1 son Mark (Robin) Keller of Omaha, NE, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 brother John (Charlotte) Keller of East Grand Forks, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Brandon Kozel, 2 brothers, Richard and 1 in infancy and 2 sisters Carol Hunt and Ferne Flygare.

Military Honors will be conducted by the East Grand Forks American Legion #157, East Grand Forks VFW #3817 and the ND National Guard.
