Biography

Hilary Leo Grabanski, 88, of East Grand Forks, MN died on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at his home that he shared with his sister Delores, with his family by his side.
Hilary Grabanski was born on February 24, 1922 in Ardoch, ND the son of Leo and Angeline (Korynta) Grabanski. He grew up on the family farm attending country school and then later Ardoch School. Hilary married Jacqueline Jondahl on April 26, 1944 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND. Hilary served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946. After the war they made their home in Grand Forks, and Hilary was employed with G.F. Grocery until his retirement in 1989. His beloved wife Jacqueline passed away on July 31, 2003. Hilary loved walleye fishing and Delores’s dog, Shasta.
He is survived by his children: Caryn (David) Legros of Baytown, Texas, Terry (Kathy) Grabanski of Yorba Linda, California, Paula Angela of Pine City, Minnesota, Craig (Dee) Grabanski of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Michael (Jean) Tyler of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister: Delores Pederson, East Grand Forks, MN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline; parents; one brother, Edward; two sisters, Francis Grabanski and Delphine Derrick.
